No, literally. On October 11 there was a train derailment about 2 miles from our house. Part of the track’s roadbed had been washed away by heavy rains. The crash resulted in a large fuel spill, ethanol I think, from several tanker cars. No one was killed, but one of our town police officers did a great job rescuing the trains crew.
Yesterday I took my daughter down to the adjacent park to see what we could see. There are still a good number of mangled train cars there. Bulk carriers and tanker cars. A couple of cars look like a dog chewed them up. Just a mess. They were toward the front of the train based on location.

Oof - these are terrifying. I grew up in a railroad town and we’d have a derailment about once a year. The sheer carnage that amount of kinetic energy is capable of inflicting is something else.
Glad noone does though
